I thought a few weeks ago that this upcoming week was going to be crazy. Yesterday, all day, we moved stuff from the old Riverview auditorium to the new one. My list grew substantially.
I have a bazillion things to do at Riv, my kitchen is still in my living room, and we’re like out of groceries.
It might not be so bad. Then again, it might.
It has been 4 weeks and 6 days since my semester ended. I have 11 weeks and 4 days until my next semester starts.
Since my last semester ended I have:
- Spent 2.5+ weeks working on the tech install in the new Riv auditorium
- Spent 1 week finishing up work projects
- Visited my sister in Chicago for 3 days
- Run sound for 3 weddings
- Worked on finishing my kitchen for 2 days (still in progress)
I feel like I’ve been using my time pretty well, and I have been getting a lot of things done that I had put off during the semester. I’m getting really excited about the new auditorium being finished. It will be really nice to finally have all that work done and be able to enjoy the new space (and new technology).
I have a bunch of pictures that I want to share, but Kristie has the camera. I guess you’ll have to wait.
Brought my sister Teresa home on Mother’s Day as a sort of present. Only my youngest sister Kathryn knew. Good job for her on keeping the secret.
This week I’ve been (and will be) working on some tech stuff in the new Riverview auditorium. Hopefully Nato will post some pictures soon of all the junk we’ve been doing…
More betterer updates, and maybe some subjective thoughts, coming soon.
I should be banned from blogging having passed the three week mark since my last post. I suppose my blog updates reflect the amount of free time that I have: close to none.
This week is the one where it all comes down. This week is going to be more difficult that finals week. I have 4 exams to take, 2 homework assignments to complete, and 1 project due. When it is done, I can have a short sigh of relief before finals.
I don’t know when I can post more, but I will say that it will be in less than three weeks.
I just have a little bit of a cold now. You know mucus coming out of my nose, a little bit of a cough. Nothing serious.
There’s alot of snow outside, and I don’t like shoveling so often. Snow is heavy when there’s so much of it, and since I own my house, I HAVE to shovel it. It made my back all sweaty. I tricked Kristie into touching said sweaty back. She wasn’t very happy….
Well, I should be reading for class. Goodbye for now…
It has been over a month since my last post, and even that post wasn’t very good.
I’m officially half-way into my break between semesters. This next semester won’t be quite so difficult compared to the last one. I have 3 academic classes as opposed to the 5 I had before.
I feel like I’m starting to become myself again. Even though that means some procrastination, waking up late, and doing one thing when I should be doing another.
Kristie and I are leaving early for Ignite since we are helping with it. I sure hope that I can actually do something. It seems like they might not really need my help.
Anyway, I procrastinated packing some of my stuff, so I have to go so we’re not late.
I can’t believe that it has been almost 3 weeks since I last posted. I also can’t believe that after I get home from NC, I only have 2 weeks left of regular classes.
This semester has been so crazy. I can’t wait until it is over. I also hope that the next semester isn’t like this one. I usually have so much that I’m thinking about and plenty feelings about life and relationships, but work and school have dominated my thoughts since the beginning of the semester. I don’t really like it at all.
So I got my root canal done today. Doug Hinterman did it for me, and he was fantastic! I barely felt anything, and even though it took a while to do it, it really was not bad at all. He used plenty of anesthesia, so all those myths/movies with screaming patients was not the situation for me. I’m so glad that it’s over now.
I took a couple of pictures with my camera phone while they were away doing something else…
Here’s the ceiling I stared at for almost 3 hours:

And here’s what I looked like with the tooth isolator thingy on:

And now it’s been like an hour and a half since I got it done, and still feelin pretty good. I guess it helps that I have some prescription pain medication… Anyway, I gotta get some schoolwork done now.
Well, my life has been quite busy lately. I’m sure most everyone knows since I don’t really see anyone anymore. I guess part of that is my fault since I don’t really hang out after church on Saturday night anymore. I am just so much more tire lately since my sleep schedule is crazy and I’m waking up early most of the week.
On another note, I get to buy a new furnace for my house. Not really the way that I was hoping to spend $1,700 of our emergency savings, but I suppose it will add value to our house and maybe save us some money on heating bills. Then again, it’s not quite as expensive as the $2,000 dental work (aka root canal plus x-rays) that I will begin this Wednesday. I’m really not looking forward to that pain. I guess it makes me thankful that we had the emergency savings in the first place.
The good news though is that so far I am doing well in school. I think that I am still in a really good position to get 4.0 in all of my classes. I sure wish that I had completed school earlier when I didn’t have so many other responsibilities.
What is the significance of 4.0? Well, it is significant in two ways: the first is an easy one. I ran 4.0 miles yesterday, and I thought I was gonna pass out near the end. I stuck it out though, and it was semi-rewarding.
The other significance is what is dominating my life right now: school. My aim for this semester is a 4.0. So, I have to bust my bum to get there, and it is taking so much time that I have to say ‘no’ to a lot of things, which sucks.
I will update as much as I can, but it’s hard to say how often that will be…
