skepticism

I don’t really talk about politics.  I don’t really know anything about anyone who is trying to be president/governor/senator.  I know that many people would argue me to death with what I’m about to say, but I don’t see any point in voting or putting in any effort into the political system.

All those people can win you over with their speeches and debates, but I bet if you tallied up all the unkept promises for every politician that made it into their office, it would be a nice big list.  We’re capitalists, it all comes down to the almighty dollar.  Most people are going to listen to those that are paying them, it’s how most jobs work.  So, if you have enough money, you get to make the rules.  Sure, I can vote Mr(s) so and so into office, but how likely is it that I know about this person because some company paid top dollar to their campaign?

It sounds pessimistic, yes.  What can anyone do about our state of affairs without dedicating their whole life to it? (and if they do dedicate their life, they better be putting food on the table still….)

Useless, waste of time.
